Guidelines/Rules for Whatsapp Chat Group
=================================
Hi everyone. We have some rules to make the whatsapp group as useful and pleasant as possible for everyone (having learnt from other global group chats). Please read...
1. Please ensure that any messages or questions posted here are focused on the subject of Family Discipleship ONLY. Please respect each other’s time in this way. Any messages not relating to FD will be removed.
*Family Discipleship is referring to the whole family e.g. parenting/grandparenting, children/youth, couples, singles, elderly; in the context of the home or church, topics like marriage, domestic abuse, father/motherhood, single parents, missional families etc.
a. Do share good resources, ideas, effective strategies.
b. Do ask questions/comments related to the topic
c. Do share news, online or global events
d. Do use emoji reactions to respond to messages and encourage the sender but not chats unless making a comment or extending the conversation (polite replies like 'thank you' etc. are not necessary and only clutters/distracts from key messages, remember there are many other people in the group).
2. The purpose of this group is to build a useful community to advance Family Discipleship.
This can be about , sharing resources, ideas, prayer requests etc. Pls consider - “Is it relevant to the wider Family Discipleship community”. If it isn’t don’t post it. If unsure, just send to Admin.
3. Don’t post spam. People have joined this group for this topic but not to be inundated with texts.
4. Please don't promote your local ministry unless it is directly related to Family Discipleship .
Please remember, we are forming a global community so notices of local services are less relevant. Occasional posts will be allowed but not multiple texts - these may be removed without notice.
5. Please don’t post multiple photos.. One photo is enough to illustrate your post, if necessary. For videos-pls use a link. Extra photos / videos will be removed without notice.
Please help to keep this community focused on what is important and please respect each others time (and notifications and storage space 🙂). The more we can follow these simple rules, the more useful this community will become.
6. Don’t contact group members privately to ask for money
If you receive unsolicited private messages from someone in this group asking for money (or anything else that is inappropriate) then please notify admin immediately and forward to us the message, phone number of the person who has contacted you. We will then deal with it.
Thank you for your understanding and for your grace for each other. We value your presence in this group and wish for it to benefit your desire to grow in Family Discipleship & help others too; we do not wish to offend anyone but hope you understand that these guidelines are for the sake of the wider group.
Past Whatsapp Posts will be updated below for group members
Please join the Whatsapp chat group for more timely updates

What is your definition of discipleship?
Disciple-Making is the Life-to-Life Transfer of Beliefs, Values, and Disciplines based on trustworthy inter-personal relationship in Christ, as enabled by the Holy Spirit. ~Dr Joshua Soh
In his 4 part paper on The Great Commission, Healthy Church Growth, 9 Areas of Discipleship and Effective Disciple Making, Dr Joshua Soh shared the above definition which we believe is spot on. He has kindly given his permission to AEA's Family & Children Commission to adapt it.
Unfortunately, we think, a huge gap in this well thought through series of papers, is the role of family/home as part of church discipleship. It is a gap found in most church discipleship strategy. How are you helping to close this gap?Do feel free to share your thoughts/church strategies so we can learn from one another.
