Asia Co-ordinating Committee For Christian Cooperation

13 July 2002

Representatives of three All Asia Christian Organizations, namely, Christian Conference of Asia(CCA), Evangelical Fellowship of Asia(EFA) and World Vision(WV), came together on July 12-13, 2002 in Chennai, India, with a mandate to seek ways of strengthening our mutual understanding, relationship and cooperation in Christ’s mission in Asia. Therefore, we constituted ourselves as Asia Coordinating Committee for Christian Co-operation (ACCC).

ACCC is a forum whose mission is to strengthen mutual understanding, relationship and co-operation of churches and Christian bodies in Asia of different traditions and theological persuasions, towards fulfilling the mission of our Lord Jesus Christ. The Forum will strive:

To enhance the understanding and practice of our common Christian convictions on issues related to Christ’s mission in Asia

To encourage local, national and regional co-operation and partnership in responding to critical needs in Asia.

The members have decided to work together in the areas of capacity building, transformation and development, religious fundamentalism, HIV/ADIS, suffering and peace & reconciliation. The joint programme will be organized both at the regional & national levels during this and the next year.

The ACCC also plans to organize a three day consultation at All Asia level on “Justice and Witness to Christ” in 2003 to foster cooperation, regional visibility and credibility and to enrich one another theologically and spiritually in serving God in Asia.
